Datsusara MMA
Datsusara (dat-su-sa-ra) is a Japanese phrase meaning "to leave the salaried/corporate worker's life". Chris K. Odell founded Datsusara in 2007 because, as an avid Mixed Martial Arts participant, he couldn't find gear that met his needs. Datsusara has a singular goal, to make truly functional, high quality MMA gear.
Our gear is specifically designed for the MMA practitioner’s needs. Datsusara is not about taking typical gear and simply re-branding it.
Datsusara gear is designed by people that actually practice MMA and its related disciplines: Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling. Datsusara gear is manufactured to military specifications and built to be as strong as military gear -- while also incorporating the most functional textiles nature has to offer. We often use green materials like hemp and bamboo, which are not only extremely durable but also breathable and anti-microbial.
